Beasiswa Hubungan Internasional di AUSTRALIA,

Hedley Bull Scholarships for MA International Relations, Australian National University, Australia : The Graduate Studies in International Affairs program offers up to four Hedley Bull Scholarships each year for full-time study in the Master of Arts (International Relations) commencing in semester one. Applicants must meet the admission requirements of the Master of Arts (International Relations).

When applying for the MA (International Relations), eligible applicants for the Hedley Bull Scholarship should include a covering letter indicating their interest in being considered for the scholarship and making the case for being granted one. The covering letter together with the application for the MA (International Relations) (including transcripts and three academic references) will be considered as the full application for the scholarship. There is no need to provide a separate application. The scholarship provides a full-fee waiver for three full-time sessions (semesters). This amounts to 48 units of graduate coursework and a 24-unit thesis session.

Admission requirements

MA (International Relations) (MAIR) and Master of International Affairs (MIA)
Applicants for the MIA or MAIR programs should normally have obtained at least a Distinction average in a Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Honours, or the equivalent. The degree should be in any discipline of the social sciences or the humanities, although exceptional candidates with degrees from other fields will be considered. As a guide, Distinction refers to an A/B+ average, 2(1) Hons in the British system or 14/20 in the French system.

Applicants with a Bachelors degree may be made an offer to enter the Graduate Certificate in International Relations (GCIR) or Graduate Diploma in International Affairs (GDIA), with the possibility of transferring into the MIA or MAIR programs, if they achieve a Distinction average in the GCIR or GDIA.


Graduate Diploma in International Affairs (GDIA) and Graduate Certificate in International Relations (GCIR)
Applicants for the GDIA and the GCIR should normally have obtained a Bachelor degree with a Credit average. Although a degree in the social sciences would be an advantage, degrees in other areas will be considered.

Process
All domestic applications for the graduate coursework qualifications must be made through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC). The UAC code for the qualifications are:

Beasiswa dan Kontrak kerja di Reserve Bank of New Zealand

Reserve Bank of New Zealand University Scholarships, New Zealand : The Reserve Bank of New Zealand offers scholarships for students studying Economics, Finance and Banking at a New Zealand University.

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand offers two scholarships each year to students who are majoring in Economics, Finance or Banking and who are entering their Honours, Masters or final year of PhD study. Students must have attained at least a B+ average and be studying full time over the academic year (February to November).

The value of each scholarship will be $10,000. This money will be paid fortnightly during the academic year.

In addition to the $10,000, an offer of employment is provided at the completion of your qualification. It is important to note that a condition of receipt of the scholarship is that you must accept the position with the Reserve Bank and must remain in that position for a specified period of time. Should this condition not be met you will be required to repay the sum of the scholarship payments made to you.

We welcome applications from international students, provided you are legally entitled to work in New Zealand.

Once short listing has been completed, successful applicants will be asked to attend a half day interview process at the Bank in Wellington. This typically takes place at the beginning of February.

Applications for our 2014 Scholarship round are now open. Applications will be closing on January 15th 2014.

Beasiswa Bidik Misi - Universitas Indonesia (UI)

Penawaran Program Bidik Misi Tahun 2013. Penawaran program ini diperuntukkan bagi mahasiswa baru angkatan 2013 yang belum pernah mendaftar Bidik Misi baik melalui SMA maupun melalui laman bidikmisi.dikti.go.id pada saat pendaftaran mahasiswa baru.

Adapun persyaratan bagi mahasiswa yang ingin mengajukan program ini adalah sebagai berikut:

  •     siswa SMA / SMK / MA / MK atau bentuk lain yang sederajat yang lulus pada tahun 2013;
  •     maksimal lulusan SMA tahun 2012 yang bukan penerima Bidik Misi dan tidak bertentangan dengan ketentuan penerimaan mahasiswa baru di masing-masing perguruan tinggi;
  •     usia paling tinggi pada saat mendaftar adalah 21 tahun;
  •     tidak mampu secara ekonomi dengan ketentuan sebagai berikut:
  •         pendapatan kotor gabungan orang tua/ wali (suami istri) sebesar-besarnya Rp.3.000.000,- per bulan. Pendapatan yang dimaksud meliputi seluruh penghasilan yang diperoleh. Untuk pekerjaan non formal / informal pendapatan yang dimaksud adalah rata-rata penghasilan perbulan dalam satu tahun terakhir;
  •         pendapatan kotor gabungan orang tua/wali dibagi jumlah anggota keluarga sebesar-besarnya Rp. 750.000,- setiap bulannya;
  •     pendidikan orang tua / wali setinggi-tingginya S1 (strata 1) atau Diploma 4;
  •     berpotensi akademik baik.

Beasiswa dan Biaya Hidup di University of Melbourne AUSTRALIA

Melbourne International Research Scholarships (MIRS), University of Melbourne, Australia : The Melbourne International Research Scholarships (MIRS) is awarded to international students wishing to undertake graduate research degree studies at the University of Melbourne. MIRSs are funded by the University with each faculty having a limited number to award.

Number
Each year the University offers about 200 new Melbourne Research Scholarships (MRSs), of which about 150 are normally awarded to international students as MIRSs.

Benefits and conditions
Benefits provided by the MIRS include:
  •     a living allowance of $24,653 per annum (2013 rate)
  •     a Relocation Grant of $2,000 awarded to students who are moving from interstate in order to study at the University of Melbourne or $3,000 awarded to those who are moving from overseas
  •     a Thesis Allowance of up to $420 (2013 rate) for masters by research and up to $840 (2013 rate) for PhD and other doctorate by research candidates, and
  •     paid sick, maternity and parenting leave.

Eligibility criteria
To be considered for a MIRS, applicants need to apply for scholarship and candidature in a graduate research degree course (eg. masters by research, PhD or other research doctorate) at the University of Melbourne. Both commencing and currently enrolled international research higher degree students may apply.

Selection criteria

Beasiswa Fakultas Engineering & IT di Sydney AUSTRALIA

Dr Abdul Kalam International Scholarships, University of Sydney, Australia : Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was the 11th President of India. A distinguished scientist and aeronautical engineer by training, Dr Kalam was presented an Honorary Doctorate of Engineering from the University of Sydney in 2011 in recognition of his contribution to the profession. The Dr Abdul Kalam International Undergraduate Scholarship celebrates his commitment to education, and his endeavours to support outstanding students to develop as future leaders.

The scholarship is:
  •     Open to all international applicants who have an offer of admission for an undergraduate degree program in the Faculty of Engineering and IT at the time of submitting a scholarship application.
  •     Have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification or an international senior secondary qualification accepted by the University with an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) of at least 98 or equivalent.

The scholarship shall be awarded based on academic merit as determined by the Faculty Selection Panel.

The scholarship is valued at 50% of the tuition fees for a maximum of one year of the undergraduate program subject to satisfactory academic performance deemed to be a minimum of credit average (65%) each semester. The recipient will be responsible for paying the balance of the tuition fees while enrolled in the program.

The scholarship cannot be deferred and is not transferrable to another Faculty or university. Scholars must not hold an equivalent scholarship simultaneously.

Successful candidates will be informed by:
  •     28 June 2013 for Semester 2, 2013
  •     17 January 2014 for Semester 1, 2014

Applicants must complete an online scholarship application, and submit their most recent Year 12 results and admission letter of offer to the Scholarships Officer by the scholarship closing dates:
  •     14 June 2013 for Semester 2, 2013
  •     6 January 2014 for Semester 1, 2014

Beasiswa bidang kehutanan di JEPANG, Exp.23 Agustus 2013

ITTO offers fellowships through the Freezailah Fellowship Fund to promote human resource development and to strengthen professional expertise in member countries in tropical forestry and related disciplines. The goal is to promote the sustainable management of tropical forests, the efficient use and processing of tropical timber, and better economic information about the international trade in tropical timber.

Program objective
To develop human resources and enhance professional expertise in member countries in tropical forestry, tropical timber industries and related disciplines, with a view to promoting sustainable management of tropical forests, efficient utilization and processing of tropical timber, and better economic information on the international trade in tropical timber.

Eligible activities
  •     Participation in international/regional conferences, short-term training courses, training internships at industries, research and educational institutions, study tours, and lecture/demonstration tours;
  •     Technical document preparation, publication and dissemination, such as manuals and monographs;
  •     Small grants for post-graduate studies. ITTO gives preference to short-term activities.

Award
The maximum amount for a fellowship is US$10,000. ITTO Fellowships provides tuition/training/conference fees, transportation fees, daily subsistence allowance, book allowance and other allowances. For post-gradate studies, only a partial tuition fee or a small research grant can be provided. Approved Fellowships are non-transferable to other programmes or institutions.


Eligibility
  •     Only nationals of ITTO Member countries are eligible to apply.
  •     Awards are to be made to individuals not to institutions.
  •     Previous ITTO Fellowship awardees are not eligible to apply for another ITTO Fellowship within two years of receiving the first award and submitting to the Secretariat a final report on the activity for which the award was made.

Appraisal
Applications are appraised by a Fellowship Selection Panel twice a year. The Panel comprises six individuals, three from producer member countries and three from consumer member countries, and is chaired by the Vice Chairman of the ITTC.

Priority areas
Based on the goals and cross-cutting strategies identified in the ITTO Action Plan 2008-2011, eligible activities will aim at developing human resources and professional expertise in one or more of the following areas (in no priority order):

  •     Increasing production and further processing of tropical timber and other forest products from sustainably managed and legally harvested sources;
  •     Increasing efficiency in harvesting, processing and utilization of tropical timber from sustainably managed and legally harvested sources;
  •     Improving data and knowledge, projections and competitiveness on trade in timber and timber products in international markets;
  •     Increasing supplies of tropical timber from sustainably managed and legally harvested sources;
  •     Better securing tropical forest resources;
  •     Sustainably managing tropical forest resource;
  •     In any of the above areas (a-f), the following are relevant:
  •         Research and development, and technology transfer;
  •         Communication and outreach;
  •         Strengthening databases and information system;
  •         Capacity building; and
  •         International cooperation.

Selection criteria
Fellowship applications will be assessed against the following selection criteria (in no priority order):
  •     Consistency of the proposed activity with the Programme’s objective and priority areas;
  •     Qualifications of the applicant to undertake the proposed Fellowship activity;
  •     The potential of the skills and knowledge acquired or advanced under the Fellowship activity to lead to wider applications and benefits nationally and internationally;
  •     Reasonableness of costs in relation to the proposed Fellowship activity.

Additional consideration will be given to:
  •     Geographic and gender balance;
  •     Balance among the ITTO priority areas;
  •     Competency in the language in which the training will be given, where applicable (eg courses, conferences, study tours).

The ITTO Fellowships are awarded mainly to nationals of developing countries. However, ITTO may award Fellowships to nationals of consumer developed countries when: (a) the activities for which the awards are made are carried out in Producer Member countries and the activities tend to benefit Producer Member countries; and/or (b) there is evidence of technology transfer for activities to be carried out in developed countries.

Duration
Tuition fees scholarships will be tenable for the minimum standard full-time duration of the scholars’ chosen undergraduate program excluding an Honours Year.

$5,000 stipend scholarships will be paid as a one-off payment following the Census Date of the semester for which it has been awarded.

  •     Up to two full tuition fee scholarships per year.

Bachelor & Master, Utrecht Excellence Scholarships, Utrecht University, Netherlands : The Utrecht Excellence Scholarship offers a number of highly talented prospective students the opportunity to pursue a degree in a selected number of fields at Utrecht University:

International Bachelor’s programmes:
  1.     Economics and Business Economics
  2.     Liberal Arts & Sciences at University College Utrecht

International Master’s programmes offered by the following Graduate Schools:
  •     Graduate School of Geosciences
  •     Graduate School of Humanities
  •     Graduate School of Law, Economics and Governance
  •     Graduate School of Life Sciences
  •     Graduate School of Natural Sciences
  •     Graduate School of Social and Behavioural Sciences

Note that Master’s programmes that are privately funded are not eligible.

The scholarship programme is highly selective. Only candidates showing the highest achievement and promise may receive a scholarship.


Duration and number of scholarships
Selected students receive a scholarship for the duration of the degree programme, which is a maximum of two years for a Master’s degree and three years for a Bachelor’s degree. Approximately 55 scholarships are awarded each year. The scholarship will only be renewed for the second (and third) year if the student is making satisfactory progress towards the degree.

Amount of scholarship
Selected students are awarded a scholarship up to 28 350 euro per year. Students should be aware that the grant is not necessarily a full scholarship, and that it may be necessary to find additional funding to be able to finance study and stay completely. As one of the requirements for being granted a residence permit in the Netherlands, students from abroad must prove to the IND (Immigration and Naturalisation Office) that they have sufficient financial means.

Eligibility criteria
The applicant must meet the eligibility criteria in order to be considered for this scholarship. The applicant should:
  •     Not have the Dutch or an EU/EEA nationality;
  •     Hold a non-Dutch secondary school diploma;
  •     Have been admitted to an International Master’s programme within one of the Graduate Schools mentioned above, the Bachelor’s programme in Economics and Business Economics or to University College Utrecht;
  •     Hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree (for a Master’s programme) or secondary school diploma (for a Bachelor’s programme), or an equivalent thereof;
  •     Be able to comply with the conditions to obtain a Dutch visa;

Failure to meet one or more of these criteria automatically means the student is not eligible for this scholarship.

Selection criteria
Eligible candidates are selected for a scholarship on the basis of the following criteria:
  •     Their academic excellence and promise in the proposed field of study;
  •     The academic quality and results of the preceding education, as evidenced, for example, by grades, test scores, publications, letters of recommendation;
  •     The quality and relevance of the motivation letter (academic content, intercultural and communication skills, personal motivation);
  •     The quality and feasibility of the financial plan in the application;
  •     The quality of the application itself (completeness, accuracy, consistency).

Application
It is not possible to apply for the Utrecht Excellence Scholarship. The selection committee of the programme will select eligible candidates on the basis of the selection criteria mentioned above. The selected candidates will be offered an Utrecht Excellence Scholarship at the latest in May.

Please note that students starting their programme in February are not eligible for the Utrecht Excellence Scholarships.

Deadline: Prospective Bachelor’s students in Economics and Business Economics who wish to be considered for the scholarship should apply for admission before 1 April. Prospective Master’s students who wish to be considered for the scholarship should apply for admission before 1 December.

Funding
The funds for the scholarships come from the Utrecht Excellence Scholarship Fund, established by Utrecht University and from contributions by Utrecht University alumni.

Sebagai upaya meningkatkan kualifikasi dosen dan calon dosen, Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi melalui Direktorat Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan membuka pendaftaran beasiswa pascasarjana Indonesian German Scholarship Programme (IGSP) untuk alokasi tahun 2014. Applicants for the GDIA and the GCIR should normally have obtained a Bachelor degree with a Credit average. Although a degree in the social sciences would be an advantage, degrees in other areas will be considered.

Bagaimana dengan ikatan pasca program beasiswa berakhir?
Setelah penyelesaian masa kuliah/pendidikan di Perguruan Tinggi, penerima BUTIK CIMB Niaga harus menjalani ikatan sebagai nasabah CIMB Niaga dan menggunakan produk dan jasa perbankan CIMB Niaga untuk jangka waktu minimun 3 (tiga tahun) secara aktif.

Bagaimana jika terjadi pelanggaran kesepakatan oleh penerima beasiswa?
Apabila penerima BUTIK CIMB Niaga melanggar perjanjian pemberian beasiswa yang telah disepakati Para Pihak, maka penerima beasiswa wajib membayar penalti sejumlah 100% dari seluruh pembayaran dan biaya yang telah dibayarkan oleh CIMB Niaga selama menjadi penerima BUTIK CIMB Niaga dan 200% biaya pendidikan atas biaya pendidikan yang diterima dari Kemdikbud RI.

Beasiswa untuk Mahasiswi Kebidanan dari Akademi Andalan

DKT Indonesia, sebagai pemegang merk “Kontrasepsi Andalan”, melalui “Program KB Andalan” telah lama bermitra dengan Bidan, baik secara individu maupun organisasi. Sebagai organisasi yang memiliki latar belakang kuat di bidang pemasaran sosial kontrasepsi, DKT memahami bahwa pengembangan profesi ini menjadi sangat penting untuk dapat meningkatkan taraf hidup masyarakat. Nilai-nilai leadership, social entrepreneurship, dan management skills yang memadai akan dapat mendukung Bidan dalam menjalankan fungsinya sebagai pelayan masyarakat. Hal inilah yang menjadi landasan pemikiran kami untuk membuat suatu program capacity building yang diberi nama “Akademi Andalan”.

Program “Akademi Andalan” ini antara lain mencakup:
  •     Pemberian penghargaan bagi 12 mahasiswi akademi kebidanan berprestasi dalam bentuk dukungan biaya pendidikan masing-masing sebesar US$ 1.000
  •     Sesi peningkatan keterampilan non-teknis yang mendukung profesi kebidanan, seperti: social entrepreneurship, management skills, dan lain sebagainya

Tahun 2013 merupakan tahun kedua program ini dilaksanakan, dan DKT kembali bersama Pengurus Pusat IBI akan memilih 12 orang mahasiswi akademi kebidanan sebagai penerima penghargaan. Program ini diharap dapat menjadi stimulan positif bagi para calon bidan dalam persiapan terjun ke masyarakat.

DKT Indonesia
DKT Indonesia adalah sebuat lembaga yang melakukan pemasaran sosial dan merupakan bagian dari DKT Internasional yang berbasis di Amerika Serikat. Selain di Indonesia, DKT Internasional juga menjalankan program di 19 negara lainnya diseluruh dunia. DKT Indonesia mulai beroperasi di Indonesia pada tahun 1996 dan program-program yang dijalankan telah mendapat pengakuan sebagai program perencanaan keluarga paling sukses di negara berkembang.

Melalui strategi pemasaran sosial, DKT menyediakan alat kontrasepsi yang terjangkau dan mudah diperoleh. Produk DKT bisa ditemui di puluhan ribu gerai, mulai dari apotik, pasar swalayan, sampai ke para bidan dan kios tradisional. DKT secara aktif melakukan kampanye pendidikan dan penyebaran informasi untuk mengubah perilaku berisiko menjadi perilaku yang lebih aman. Pada bulan Oktober 2012, DKT Indonesia telah memasarkan 1 miliar kondom pada semua merknya. Ini adalah pencapaian yang cukup besar sebagai kontribusi DKT dalam menjalankan program perencanaan keluarga dan pencegahan penyakit menular seksual termasuk HIV/AIDS.

Melalui TV, radio dan media cetak, dan channel komunikasi lainnya, DKT menjangkau jutaan penduduk yang membutuhkan informasi tentang HIV/AIDS, Keluarga Berencana, dan kesehatan reproduksi. Upaya DKT ini dapat dengan cepat menyesuaikan diri dengan perubahan sosial masyarakat sehingga DKT selalu dapat menyusun program yang inovatif dan efektif.

  •     Setiap calon peserta adalah mahasiswi program studi kebidanan yang telah mengikuti perkuliahan di akademi kebidanan bersangkutan selama 4 semester atau sekurang-kurangnya telah mendapatkan kartu hasil kuliah semester 3 di kampusnya dan sedang mengikuti perkuliahan di semester 4
  •     Jumlah perkuliahan yang telah diikuti selama 4 semester harus dilakukan di kampus yang sama dan bukan berstatus mahasiswa pindahan
  •     Domisli calon peserta adalah wilayah Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia dan merupakan Warga Negara Indonesia
  •     Calon peserta pengirim aplikasi memiliki IPK minimal 3.0
  •     Calon peserta pengirim aplikasi masih aktif mengikuti perkuliahan dan tidak sedang menjalani cuti kuliah

PENGIRIMAN APLIKASI
  •     Registrasi calon peserta Akademi Andalan 2013 hanya dapat dilakukan secara online melalui website www.akademi-andalan.com
  •     Periode pendaftaran peserta Akademi Andalan 2013 adalah 1 Juni 2013 pukul 00.00 WIB hingga 30 Agustus 2013 pukul 00.00 WIB disesuaikan dengan perhitungan Waktu Indonesia Barat
  •     Pada akhir periode pendaftaran otomatis sistem program formulir pendaftaran akan tertutup dan tidak bisa diakses
  •     Form registrasi online harus diisi lengkap, sistem pada form registrasi online tidak akan bisa terkirim apabila terdapat kolom pada form yang disediakan tidak terisi secara lengkap
  •     Setiap calon peserta Akademi Andalan 2013 hanya diperbolehkan melakukan satu kali registrasi

PENILAIAN APLIKASI AKADEMI ANDALAN 2013
  •     Penilaian aplikasi yang telah masuk akan dilakukan oleh tim gabungan yang terdiri dari tim DKT Indonesia, Alat Kontrasepsi Andalan dan PP IBI
  •     Tim penilai berhak menggugurkan calon peserta apabila persyaratan utama yang berkaitan dengan persyaratan pra aplikasi dan pengiriman aplikasi tidak terpenuhi, misal: IPK yang tidak mencapai 3.00 atau melewati batas pengiriman aplikasi
  •     Penilaian akan meliputi beberapa hal:
  •         Kelengkapan dan ketepatan data pada persyaratan pra-aplikasi
  •         Ketepatan waktu pengiriman aplikasi
  •         Jawaban pertanyaan terbuka yang terdapat pada lembar aplikasi
  •         Essay wajib dengan pilihan tema:
  •             Peranan bidan dalam mengurangi angka kematian ibu
  •             Strategi peningkatan penggunaan kontrasepsi jangka panjang untuk akseptor
  •             Prinsip kewirausahaan dan implementasinya dalam konteks kode etik kebidanan
  •             Tantangan profesi kebidanan versus peraturan dan perundangan yang berlaku

HADIAH DAN PENGUMUMAN PEMENANG
  •     Pengumuman pemenang akan dilakukan secara online di website Akademi Andalan pada tanggal 30 September 2013
  •     Dewan juri akan memilih 12 orang pemenang Akademi Andalan yang akan berhak mendapatkan hadiah beasiswa Akademi Andalan 2013

Beasiswa di Amsterdam University College BELANDA, Exp. 1 November 2013

ASF Scholarships, Amsterdam University College, Netherlands : Applications for ASF Scholarships are open to all students (Dutch and international). The AUC Scholarship Fund offers two types of ASF Scholarship: Full scholarships: EU students: EUR 5000 per year Non-EU students: EUR 15,000 per year Partial scholarships: EU students: EUR 2500 per year Non-EU students: EUR 7500 per year.

The AUC Scholarship Fund Board, consisting of representatives of the sponsors and AUC, is responsible for the selection and decides whether the applicant gets a full or a partial scholarship, following a recommendation from the ASF Selection Committee.

The ASF Scholarships are paid to the student in 12 monthly instalments. Please note that the scholarship cannot be used as a (partial) tuition fee waiver; students are responsible for paying the tuition fee themselves.

Selection criteria
  • Candidates wishing to apply for an ASF Scholarship must meet the following requirements.

  •     Candidates must have submitted a complete application for admission to AUC. For more information on applications and admissions, see links in left-hand menu.
  •     Candidates must have excellent school results and a strong motivation as reflected in their application and recommendation forms. The selection committee will also look at extracurricular accomplishments and activities relevant for AUC, as well as the future leadership profile/skills of the candidates.
  •     Candidates must demonstrate financial need (provide proof that it is financially impossible for them to study at AUC without a scholarship).


How and when to apply
  •     The deadline for applications for an ASF Scholarship is 1 November 2013 for a Spring semester 2014 start. If you want to apply for an ASF Scholarship, you must write a scholarship motivation letter, explaining clearly why you think you deserve a scholarship, and why you are applying for one.
  •     In addition to your scholarship motivation letter, you must also send us proof of your financial need. Dutch candidates can do this by confirming to us that, according to the information from DUO – IB-Groep (studiefinanciering), and based on their family income, they will receive the maximum additional grant (maximale aanvullende beurs). When they start at AUC in September, these students will be asked to deliver a copy of their DUO – IB-Groep declaration that they are indeed receiving the maximum additional grant.
  •     International students need to send us copies of the salary statements of both parents or legal guardians, and preferably also their most recent tax returns. In order to be considered for the scholarship, the taxable income of both parents or legal guardians may not exceed EUR 45,000 or the equivalent in local currency. Ensure each document has the full name of the writer, contact telephone number and e-mail address. The documents must be accompanied with a signed declaration that all the documents have been filled in accurately and truthfully. (Download declaration form below.)
  •     Please send all documents for your ASF Scholarship application to the AUC Scholarship Fund e-mail address (see below), or by post to AUC (marked clearly “ASF Scholarship application, attn. Ms. D. Atkinson”). See link below for the AUC postal address.
  •     Clearly mark all documents as belonging to an ASF Scholarship application and add to each document your full name, contact telephone number and e-mail address.

Timeline
Selection will be done in November 2013, and candidates will be notified of the results of the selection at the end of November 2013. No correspondence with the AUC Scholarship Fund Board about the selection will be accepted.

Conditions for receiving the ASF Scholarship
ASF Scholarships will only be awarded to selected persons who meet the following requirements. Persons who fail to meet the following requirements cannot receive financial support.
  1.     An ASF Scholarship awardee must be fully admitted to Amsterdam University College. The ASF Scholarship cannot be transferred to another academic year or another academic programme.
  2.     An ASF Scholarship awardee must have satisfied all visa and residence permit requirements, if applicable (see link below).
  3.     An ASF Scholarship awardee must have proven both merit and financial need.
  4.     An ASF Scholarship awardee may not receive another full coverage scholarship for the same period of study as the ASF Scholarship. AUC must be notified (contact the AUC Scholarship Fund, see link below) if the student has been awarded another full scholarship, and which scholarship the student has decided to accept.
  5.     An ASF Scholarship awardee may not also receive an ASF-DAP Award.

Conditions for maintaining the ASF Scholarship
  • ASF Scholarship holders must meet the following requirements. ASF Scholarship holders who fail to meet the following requirements will have to refund the financial support.
  •     ASF Scholarship holders must maintain good academic standing: they are expected to have a GPA of at least 3.0 and preferably to be on the excellence list (GPA =3.5). The ASF Scholarship may be terminated if their GPA falls below 3.0, if they enter a period of academic probation or if they have to end their studies before graduating.
  •     If the ASF Scholarship holder decides to quit studying at AUC, the ASF Scholarship payments already received by the holder must be reimbursed to the AUC Scholarship Fund in full.
  • Students who receive an ASF Scholarship will be evaluated after one year of study. The ASF Scholarship will be awarded for another year if the student:
  •     has successfully passed the first year (a GPA of at least 3.0 and preferably to be on the excellence list with a GPA = 3.5
  •     receives a positive recommendation at the end of the academic year from his/her tutor and the Board of examiners
  •     can prove that the financial need base has not changed.

The same procedure will be followed at the end of the second year.

It is expected that ASF Scholarship holders will participate in activities with AUC sponsors and other AUC contacts, including the AUC alumni network. The ASF Scholarship may be terminated if the holder unreasonably refuses to participate in such activities.

Academic Excellence International Masters Scholarship, University of Essex, UK : Our new Academic Excellence International Masters Scholarship supports overseas students who are funding their own studies at the University of Essex. We are offering a scholarship worth £2,000 if your grades in your first degree are equivalent to a UK first class degree.

This new scholarship scheme is for students seeking to join our University in October 2013. Awards will be made on the basis of grades obtained in your first degree, so all applications for relevant courses will automatically be considered. The scholarship is awarded as a partial tuition fee waiver and is available for students on postgraduate taught courses (excluding MBA).

All our relevant course applications, received by the given deadline, will automatically be considered for this scholarship and a fee discount applied to all who meet our grade requirements.


Eligibility
  •     These scholarships are restricted to applicants who are overseas fee payers and are entirely self-funded. They are not available to students who are fully or partly sponsored.
  •     Students must have been awarded a first degree with a grade equivalent to a UK first class honours bachelor’s degree.
  •     Only one scholarship award can be made per student and the award cannot normally be held in conjunction with other University of Essex scholarships.
  •     These scholarships do not apply to deferred entry. Where a student, to whom a scholarship has been offered, requests deferred entry, the award will be considered again in line with the terms and conditions that apply in the new proposed year of entry.

How do I apply?
  •     These scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and all academic applications will automatically be considered.
  •     The University will use official transcripts and certificates, submitted as part of the original application, as evidence of grades achieved and no alternative supporting evidence will be accepted.
  •     Applicants who have firmly accepted an offer of a place by 30 September 2013, and met the academic conditions of entry, will be considered for these scholarships. Applications submitted after that date may be considered depending on availability of funds.
  •     Successful applicants will be informed, in writing, by the end of October 2013 of any award to be offered.

Payment arrangements
  •     These scholarships will only be made available as a partial waiver on the tuition fee that is payable on registration at the University.

Beasiswa Syariah / Islamic Finance dari Bank Negara Malaysia

Shari’ah Scholarship Award, International Shari’ah Research Academy for Islamic Finance, Malaysia : The International Shari’ah Research Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA) invites qualified students with excellent academic achievements and active in co-curricular activities to apply for the Shari’ah Scholarship Award (SA) to pursue their higher education at either local or overseas universities. The Shari’ah Scholarship Award is part of the Fund for Shari’ah Scholars in Islamic Finance, which was established to enhance knowledge, research, talents, and intellectual discourse in the field of Shari’ah. The Fund represents Bank Negara Malaysia’s commitment to strengthen the development of the Islamic financial industry.

FIELD OF STUDY

    Postgraduate (Master or Doctorate) in Shariah or Islamic finance studies at recognized institutions of higher learning;
    Undergraduate studies at recognized institutions of higher learning in the field of Shari’ah with a double degree or a minor in one of the following disciplines:
        Islamic banking;
        Conventional banking;
        Accounting;
        Law;
        Economics;
        Finance;
        Management; or
        other related fields appropriate to the development of the Islamic financial industry.
    CIFP, only for those with Shariah background.


ELIGIBILITY

    Applicant from Shariah background.
    The scholarship is open to citizens of all countries.
    Applicants have to secured admission at a recognized institution of higher learning. Applicants are required to pursue either a Bachelor, CIFP , Master or Doctorate programme, as defined above, in a fulltime programme.
    For a postgraduate application, applicants are required to have a CGPA of at least 3.5 or its equivalent.
    For an undergraduate application, applicants are required to have a CGPA of at least 3.3 or its equivalent (for the first semester result).
    Current students enrolled in the programmes specified above may also apply for the scholarship.
    Applicants should not be in receipt of any other scholarship award.

APPLICATION
An application for a scholarship must be submitted by hand or through registered post or courier service with the following documents, which must be in English:

  •     Application form. Please download here;
  •     Photocopy of personal identification document (passport/identity card);
  •     Offer Letter from the institution of higher learning;
  •     Certified copies of academic certificates and transcripts;
  •     An essay of not more than 100 words on ‘why the applicant should be awarded the scholarship and how he/she plans to contribute to the Islamic financial services industry’;
  •     Two (2) letters of recommendation (only for a postgraduate scholarship application). Please use provided template.
  •     Thesis proposal (only for Master and PhD application by research or coursework & research); and
  •     Other relevant materials to support the application.

Only shortlisted applicants will be notify for interview session.

There is no employment bond attached to the scholarship.

ELIGIBILITY
Q: If I do not meet the CGPA requirement, can I still apply?
No.

Q: Can a first-semester, first-year undergraduate student apply for the scholarship?
No. The undergraduate scholarship is offered based on the result of at least the first semester examination.

Q: Can a part-time student apply for the scholarship?
No.

Q: I am not a Shariah degree holder, but I am interested in pursuing my master’s/PhD in Islamic finance or CIFP. Am I eligible to apply for the scholarship?
As a rule of thumb, a non-Shariah degree holder would not be eligible to be considered for the scholarship. However, those holding a degree related to Islamic studies AND having two-years WORKING experience in Shariah matters in an Islamic financial institution could still be considered.

Q: I am a non-Malaysian Shariah degree holder and intend to pursue my further studies in the field of Islamic finance elsewhere, not in Malaysia. Am I eligible to apply for this scholarship?
No.

Q: What does the Shariah scholarship cover?
The scholarship covers all related academic fees, a subsistence allowance, books, equipment and end of study or thesis/dissertation completion assistance. For those studying outside Malaysia, return airfare, warm clothing and relocation assistance shall also be provided.

Q: Will I be bonded with ISRA or BNM upon graduation?
No, but you are morally expected to serve the Islamic finance industry whenever there is availability of a suitable position.

Beasiswa Bisnis & Ekonomi di Australian National University

ANU College of Business & Economics International Graduate Scholarship, Australia : Each year the ANU College of Business and Economics (the College) may award up to ten (10) half tuition scholarships known as the College of Business and Economics International Graduate Scholarship (“the Scholarship”).

The Scholarships are highly competitive awards available for international students (“the scholar/s”) who are applying for admission to a Graduate Diploma or Masters coursework program offered by the College for the first time.

One scholarship will be awarded to a student from Latin America, Europe, Asia, South East Asia and Eurasia while the remaining five scholarships will be open to applicants from all regions of the world.

The Scholarship may be offered in either first or second semester, as defined in the University Calendar.

VALUE
The Scholarship provides sponsorship for half (50%) of the international student tuition fee for up to one year of a Graduate Diploma or Masters program offered by the College.

Please note, that the Scholarship does not cover any application and deposit fee, the Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) premium, fares to and from Australia, the payment of reading and study materials, living expenses, accommodation or any other costs associated with studying.


ELIGIBILITY
The Scholarship shall be available to an applicant who:

    Is an International Students as defined under the terms of the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000. Dependants of the staff of diplomatic or consular missions are also eligible.
    Has received an offer of admission into a Graduate Diploma or Masters by coursework program offered by the College to commence in teaching period for which they are applying for this award.
    Will commence a Graduate Diploma or Masters by coursework program within the College for the first time.

APPLICATION
There will be a call for applications each year by the ANU College of Business and Economics. Applicants must complete all components of the application and provide supporting documents wherever necessary.

SELECTION
A Selection Committee will be appointed and will make a recommendation for the award of this Scholarship based primarily on academic merit. The Selection Committee will consider all nominations and select scholars in order of academic merit based on achievements in their past studies.

Selection will also take into consideration the country of citizenship of the applicants. One Scholarship each year is intended for a student from each of the following identified regions: Latin America, Europe, Asia, South East Asia and Eurasia. The remaining Scholarships (up to five awards each year) will be open to applicants from all regions of the world.

Consideration may also be given to any other factors which the Selection Committee considers to be appropriate and in line with the College?s strategic direction and priorities.

The Scholarship shall not be awarded if, in the opinion of the Selection committee, there is no candidate of sufficient merit. The College reserves the right to make no awards in a given year, to vary the number of awards or to make an award/s at other times in exceptional circumstances as determined by the Dean of the College (or nominee). The College reserves the right to revise the awards from time to time.

CONCURRENT HOLDING OF OTHER SCHOLARSHIPS / AWARDS
A scholar must obtain permission from the Dean of the College (or nominee) to hold any other type of award or scholarship concurrently with an ANU College of Business and Economics International Graduate Scholarship, however the Scholarship will not be tenable with any of the following:

    an Australian Government award of equal or greater value;
    any academic award or scholarship offered by the ANU of equal or greater value; or
    sponsorship by any organisation of equal or greater value.

Failure to declare and obtain permission to hold another award or scholarship may result in the scholar being required to refund the Scholarship to the College, as determined by the Dean of the College (or nominee).

CANDIDATURE
The scholar will be required to enrol full-time in a Graduate Diploma or Masters program offered by the College for the semester during which the offer was made. The Scholar must remain enrolled in this program for the full duration of their Scholarship.

Requests to vary program choice may be considered by the Dean of the College (or nominee).

As the award is only available for international students, scholars who obtain Australian permanent residence will cease to be eligible to hold the award from the end of the semester in which they receive permanent resident status.

COMMENCEMENT & DEFERRAL
Successful applicants are normally expected to take up their award offer in the semester for which it was offered. The Scholarship will commence from the first day of the first teaching period the scholar is enrolled in during in the academic year for which it is offered, unless otherwise stated in the letter of offer or approved by the Dean of the College (or nominee).

Any requests for deferrals of the Scholarship must be approved by the Dean of the College (or nominee). Subject to College approval the award may only be deferred for a maximum of one semester.

The Scholarship may be offered in either first or second semester, as defined in the University Calendar.

SCHOLARSHIP DURATION
The scholarship is available for two (2) semesters of full-time study, subject to satisfactory academic progress and continued enrolment in a Graduate Diploma or Masters program offered by the College.

ATTENDANCE
The scholar is expected to be in attendance at the University at the commencement of the first teaching period and to remain enrolled full-time during the University teaching periods or semesters. If a scholar is absent from the University for an extended period of time through illness or for any other reason, approval must have been sought and obtained from the College for „program leave? from the Program. It is also essential that the Dean of the College (or nominee) be notified and, where relevant, approval for suspension of the Scholarship sought.

LEVEL OF PERFORMANCE
The scholar is expected to achieve at least an average of 70% in the first semester of the tenure of the award, in order for the Scholarship to be continued in the following semester of study. If this academic progress standard is not met then the College will terminate the Scholarship.

In the event the minimum standard of performance is not met, the scholar may appeal to the Dean of the College (or nominee) to discuss continuation of the Scholarship.

TERMINATION AND WITHDRAWAL FROM PROGRAM
The Scholarship will terminate at the conclusion of the scholar?s first two semesters of enrolment in the program for which it has been awarded or on the date on which the scholar ceases to attend the University other than for approved absences, whichever is the earlier.

The University may terminate the Scholarship before this time if the scholar does not fulfill their obligations or meet the required level of performance. This determination will be made by the Dean of the College (or nominee).

INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE
A student will not be able to retain their scholarship while on exchange to another institution.

TAXATION
It is the scholar?s responsibility to determine the taxation implications of the award, if any, which apply to his/her individual circumstances.

ACCOMMODATION
It is the scholar’s responsibility to obtain residential accommodation. Information on student accommodation and the application form is available from the University Accommodation Services. Information may be found on the Web at: http://accom.anu.edu.au

PUBLICITY
It is anticipated that scholars may be requested to participate in publicity of the Scholarship from time to time. This may include publicity in the country of residence or of schooling.

On occasions, the scholar may be contacted by the College to participate in activities including, but not limited to, an interview, a photograph, and a formal Scholarship presentation ceremony. The College may also request written responses from the scholar which can include, but is not limited to, a summary of basic profile information, descriptions of University experiences, and a note of appreciation for the Donor who has funded their Scholarship prize.

The University may publicise the Scholarship by publishing the names of the scholars. Arrangements for such publicity will be made through the ANU College of Business and Economics Marketing and Development office.

Beasiswa Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS)

Merit Scholarships & Study Credit Scheme, Management Development Institute of Singapore : MDIS has announced the Merit Scholarships and the Study Credit Scheme worth SGD 4.00 million for International students, the scholarships and grants will eventually help close to 2,000 international students from across the world.

MDIS Merit Scholarship 2013
The MDIS International Students Merit Scholarship is an initiative aimed at providing high-calibre students with the opportunity to develop to their full potential. It offers scholarships to outstanding students pursuing their studies with MDIS.

The MDIS International Students Merit Scholarship is open to new students seeking a Pre Degree, Degree or Master’s Degree. The scholarship will cover the subsidised portion of the tuition fee payable by International students and the awards are deducted from the last instalment of the tuition fees.

Scholarship Award
Merit Scholarships are available in the following categories:

    Partial scholarships for Master’s Degrees valued at SGD 4,000 each
    Partial scholarships for Bachelor’s Degrees valued at SGD 3,200 each
    Partial scholarships for Pre Degree valued at SGD 500 each

Phase 1: 1st Feb to 31st August 2013
Scholarship will be announced in Oct 2013

    The scholarship will be used to offset the course fees and it will be deducted from the last instalment.

    MDIS reserves the right to select the scholarship recipients.

MDIS has announced the Study Credit Scheme for international students who wish to study with MDIS.
To cater to the more diverse group of international students from the region, the scholarship will be offered at two levels- Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree.
